Macalester
I just got solicited by the annual fund. The woman who called was really nice and it was neat to talk to her about her background. Her family moved from Tibet to Nepal and India and finally to the United States. I gave her money. It is a donation that I feel good about. I never end up donating enough money over the course of the year to end up having it make a difference in taxes, I think you have to give rather a lot for that to happen, but Macalester and Camp Rising Sun I feel really good about supporting. If I won the lottery I would give them both money.
Talking to her, I suddenly found myself missing Macalester and all the people that I spent time with there. There have been a couple of other things that have come up today that have made me feel like that. It has been a long time since I have seen people and I haven't been back to the Twin Cities since I moved to the West Coast.
