Newish...

So the last few days haven't been all that bad...

1.) I photographed French Canadian graphic novelist Michel Rabagliati for a joint Beguiling/ Merril event. The newer (had for awhile but never used in the light sucking basement of the Lillian H. Smith library) camera took really good shots, despite the fact that the whole question and answer was done with most of the lights out... even after the slide show was over (but that is why there are photographers and "non" photographers). Mr. Rabagliati,
who had an engaging, though slightly nervous tittering little laugh, did me a wonderful little sketch in my copy of "Paul Goes Fishing" of a chap with a camera.

2.) Moon_custafer and I went over to visit handful_ofdust her husband and little boy. I did a minor bit of computer wrangling that she was more than grateful for. I love doing stuff like this for my buds, I used to do a whole lot of Mac related stuff for my dear departed best friend Bev.

3.) Got my wonderful undervalued copy of Weird Tales August 1934 http://www.flickr.com/photos/46961281@N00/2340425839/ (this is the issue that Vincent D'Onofrio
as Robert E. Howard hands Renée Zellweger as Novalyne Price in the film "The Whole Wide World" http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0118163/ In the scene Howard hands her the mag and says- "You said you wanted to see some of my stuff..." Zellweger grunts noncommittally and grasps it like a dead fish, Vince retorts "Well there ya go!" I remember yelling to the screen the first time I saw it, in '96, saying "If she doesn't want it, I'll take it!!" Well mine is prettier then that one was!)

3.b.) Also, from the same dealer , I received my copy of Weird Tales August 1928 http://www.flickr.com/photos/46961281@N00/2340425847/in/set-72157603657859498/
(no I'm not just collecting issues from the month of August :P) with one of my favourite REH stories "Red Shadows". This is the first of Howard's tales about his puritan swordsman Solomon Kane. It's also a total bitch to find because it's the issue that has Tennessee Williams first short story in it, so all kinds of large "L" lit fans are always scrambling after it, as though being an 80 year old issue of Weird Tales with REH in it did not render it hard enough to find!!

4.) I'm in my last ever ebay war, that'll be over Wednesday night, thank gawd, with another one of these annal retentive little dweebs that doesn't understand a "FUCK OFF bid" when he sees one!! Never ever ever ever again I get WAAAY too ugly.

5.) Went to a pub tonight (yes on St Patrick's Day, against my better judgement) and was not hung upside down by my ankles and painted green, oh well...

6.) Did yet another gawd only knows what to my right leg, hip, fill in the blank, so it hurts like a bitch (my fall last week probably didn't help) So I'm staying home till Friday so i wont be limping in front of my in laws.

Well that pretty much covers it all, oh yeah, and they've started a series of hardcover reprints of my number one favourite superhero comic of all time "Justice League International"

Laugh out loud funny stuff! I quote "Bwah Ha Ha Ha" unquote.

I will return later, to tell of the end of the last great ebay war...

Stay eldritch
