Fan Sound Track : Pirates Versus Privates

May 31, 2011 12:51

The first of my fan soundtracks! If there's still a verse you wanna see 'fst'd, lemme know and I'll start working on it. For each FST, I kept it at only 20 songs (except this time, it's 21 by accident ^^; ). Hope you enjoy.

1) Song Title : Americano
Artist: Lady Gaga
Reasons: The beat of the music really brings to mind Minnie and Mickey chasing and dueling one another, especially with swords going back and forth. Additionally, the lyrics bring to Mickey’s feelings of the relationship, in that their love is ‘against the courts’ but he’ll still have her. So in other words, this song is the chase in Mickey’s point of view.

2) Song Title: Disgusting
Artist: Ke$ha
Reasons: And this is the chase in Minnie’s point of view, how much she HATES him and how much she LOVES him, and how he pretty much drives her crazy yet she can’t be helped but be drawn to him. And she’s somewhat aware of her feelings, and hates the fact she has feelings. So conflicted song is conflicted Minnie.

3)Song Title: Ghost Division
Artist: Sabaton
Reasons: This brings to my mind the epic battles that both the N.A.V.Y. and A.R.M.Y. have against all kinds of pirates. Using planes, giant guns, all kinds of steampunk weaponry to take down their enemies. Entire ships waging war against each other, parties being crashed, so on and so forth.

4)Song Title: The Riddle
Artist: The Scarlet Pimpernel (broadway musical)
Reasons: This is pretty much the theme for all of the pirates and other villains of the story. You can’t really trust anyone, cause the moment to backstab someone is always there. This even happens in Mickey’s own crew, since One Eyed Pete is among his crew members. Mirage, Maigca, Beagle Boys, Shyster, Blot, etc, they all gang up together but then trip over themselves to give up on each other to the authorities. It’s a dog eat dog world if you’re a bad guy.

5)Song Title: Battlefield
Artist: Jordin Sparks
Reasons: The theme of Donald and Daisy’s relationship in the story. They constantly fight with each other, usually over Daisy’s role in the N.A.V.Y. Donald tries to join the A.R.M.Y, but doesn’t qualify, but he still wants to help fight pirates so he can be of use to Daisy, and thus joins a vigilante group. This passes Daisy right the hell off because STOP TRYING TO GET YOURSELF KILLED DONALD. They do love each other, but the fights keep on escalating because of this.

6) Song Title: Whatever Lola Wants
Artist: Damn Yankees (broadway musical)
Reasons: Mirage’s role in the story, as she thinks her beauty and cunning can get her whatever she wants. Over the course of the story she tries to seduce several people, including Amelia’s husband (fails) and Captain Mickey (fails there too) . But she’s convinced that given enough time, any man can succumb to her, and it’s kind of pitiful, because at one point she WAS loved for who she was, but she long since abandoned and betrayed that man, and it’s haunted her ever since. But she also proves to be an interesting wedge in Mickey and Minnie’s relationship, as Minnie is, for a temporary point, convinced Mickey is having an ‘affair’ with Mirage. (he isn’t, of course.)

7)Song Title: Halo
Artist: Beyonce
Reasons: Goofy and Millicent’s relationship in the story has this theme. Like mick&Min, they are the forbidden relationship of pirate and private, but unlike the mice, this relationship is 100% consensual =P Their relationship, like the song, is just entirely fluffy and adorable, so when Minnie finds out and sees how happy they are together, she can’t bring herself to expose them. On Millie’s end, she hesitated for maybe a SECOND before starting this relationship with him, and as for Goof, he just loyally obeys her when needed and treats her like a princess. They’re that PDA couple you can’t stand to have in your dorm room =P “No, youuu hang up, no youuu hang up…” And despite him being a pirate, Millie can’t find any flaws with her Goof.

8) Song Title: Just the Way You Are
Artist: Bruno Mars
Reasons: The theme of the subplot backstory relationship of Goofy’s parents, Edna and Wilbur. Edna was a plump princess who was kidnapped by pirate captain Wilbur on her wedding day. She was a whiny, spoiled, crybaby of a girl who loved to eat, and he was a gruff, mean, smoking and drinking guy who just would never speak except in grunts and growls. Yet they unexpectedly fell in love with each other, and had a family together, despite all of the reasons not to be together. This kind of love carried onto Goofy, so he carries their mindset of loving inner beauty and appreciation for everyone.

9) Song Title: Last Day Alive
Artist: E-Type
Reasons: Theme of Horace and Clarabelle’s relationship. Clarabelle already lives every day like it’s her last, though this often gets her into reckless trouble. Horace, however, is much more restricted in his own feelings, and is always super careful about everything, making him worry about Clarabelle plenty. Over the course of the story, Clarabelle learns to calm down and Horace learns there are some things one shouldn’t ‘hold off’ on doing, such as confessing his feelings to her. (Which he only does when he thinks he’s dying, but whoops turns out he’s gunna live.)

10) Song Title: Com’ U Ventu
Artist: Agricantus
Reasons: This was recommended to me by Twisted-Wind, and it does match the serious tones of the story, such as traveling to distant lands and uncovering the plots of the villains.

11) Song Title: A Little Less Conversation
Artist: Elvis Presley (JXL mix)
Reasons: This was recommended to be by WarriorRainbow, and in her words, it does indeed “fits Mickey’s point of view when it comes to Minnie.” In fact, it fits the viewpoints of a lot of the pirates within the story, who are more for action than words, and could be a theme for all of Mickey’s Crew. (come to think of it, I need a good name for Mickey’s ship…)

12)Song Title: Sound Of The Underground
Artist: Girls Aloud
Reasons: The more playful attitude of the main four heroines - Minnie, Daisy, Clarabelle, and Millicent - and their sisterhood, while they constantly get into trouble. Sassy, fun, and always sticking out for each other in the stickiest of situations.

13) Song Title: Dancer In The Dark
Artist: Megurine Luka
Reasons: at one point in the story, Minnie is gravely injured by Mirage, yet she keeps up the good fight, refusing to stay down for long. In fact, other characters also sustain very serious injuries, such as Horace’s burn on his back, yet they refuse to give up and keep going. This song contains that.

14)Song Title: Ship Of Fools
Artist: Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
Reasons: Some of the battles take place on the ships, so this is theme to ship-to-ship combat. However, not all boats float on the ocean - the main combat boats can fly! The truly dangerous ones can do both, though.

15) Song Title: Senorita
Artist: Jenny Rom
Reasons: This is kind of how Minnie sees herself in the Navy, light and breezy but kicking ass and taking names. This is probably what would play in the background as she flies on her steam-powered roller skates.

16) Song Title: Catch Me If You Can
Artist: Angela Via
Reasons: Minnie won’t ever admit it, but she does enjoy the chase to him, and him to her, so these are her ‘inner’ feelings of the chase, especially when she’s in a good mood. The theme of ‘chase’ is a big one for the entire story, and all of its possible meanings.

17) Song Title: Catch ME If You Can
Artist: Sonic Riders
Reasons: Again, the theme of the ‘chase’, and the truth is that sometimes people enjoy being chased after. It also has to do with the fact that Mickey may allow himself to be temporarily caught in prison, he will never allow himself to be caught permanently and face the consequences of his actions. Being a pirate is just way too much fun.

18) Song Title: Easy As Life
Artist: Aida (broadway musical)
Reasons: Near the end of the story, as Minnie’s wedding to Mortimer approaches, she tries to force away her feelings for Mickey, but of course that’s no easy task, and no matter what she does, she can’t stop loving him. She tries to convince herself it shouldn’t be this hard, but the heart wants what it wants.

19) Song Title: Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better)
Artist: Annie Get Your Gun (broadway musical)
Reasons: Though Mick and Min love each other, they can be very competitive, and think they are better in combat than the other. Stubborn gits.

20) Song Title: Miss Independent
Artist: Kelly Clarkson
Reasons: Minnie trying to deny her feelings, again. She didn’t even think she’d ever love Mortimer, and until she met Mickey, had convinced herself she would never fall in love. Fate decided YEAH NO.

21) Song Title: Sweet’s Beast
Artist: Kaito
Reasons: How Mickey sees himself, in that he’s sure Minnie will eventually submit to his charms. And let’s face it, I’ve seen a few commenters swooning over him… when he’s not being a complete moron. The candy theme also highlights his childish side, in how he loves candies and turns toys into weapons, like that famous yo-yo of him.

horace, pirates versus privates, goofy, minnie, donald, disney, mickey, clarabelle, daisy, millicent
