Virgin Radio: Kash Kube

Virgin Radio has been holding a contest where you enter a small chamber, roughly the size of a phone booth, filled with monopoly money with a giant industrial-sized fan at your feet. Once it is turned on, you have a certain amount of time to grab as much money as possible. Your opponent does the same thing. Whoever ends up with more money in their hands after the time expires wins the combined total, and the loser walks away with nothing. So if you have $400 and he has $395, you win $795 cash.

Anyhow, on Monday morning, the winner walked away with $1400 (he got around $800 and his competitor got around $600)! They were in the booth for 30 seconds.

Fast forward to this afternoon, where the winner walked away with a grand total of $70 (she got $50 and her challenger got $20). Not only have they shortened the timer to 20 seconds, but they must have reduced the number of bills in circulation and/or the bills' denominations.

This sounds like a contest where the organizers didn't give things a test run before sending it out to the public.
