Wedding
I have a strange weekend ahead. Tomorrow I fly down to LA (hopefully without too many fire-related delays) for my aunt's wedding. The wedding is on Catalina Island, safe from the fires, but my aunt and several other family members live in San Diego. Right now their houses are all fine and my grandma is the only one who's even been evacuated. But man, what a stressful weekend this could turn out to be. It's also a weird wedding because it's her second marraige. When she married my (ex-)uncle Fred there was no wedding. I've never met this fiance either. I didn't even know she had a new boyfriend until I got the wedding invitation. And to top it off, it's on my birthday. I'll just pretend the big party and open bar are to celebrate my turning 23 since I'm sure my birthday is going to be the last thing on most of my family's minds.
