Because I am no longer a student, my parents' health plan won't cover me any longer. My step dad and I have been looking into new plans and I applied for one today. It seemed pretty basic and geared towards young adults. I just got an email from them just now saying that they have rejected me. I feel like there must be some mistake because the only thing keeping me from being a perfect candidate is allergies (which I treat with over-the-counter drugs anyways). They asked if I experienced any sports related injuries in the past six months. I said, yes but that the injury is now fully healed. I also answered yes to the question "do you experience persistent and/ or intense pain." I said yes because I've had daily back pain this summer but it's not intense and doesn't affect my daily life and my ex-doctor said it wasn't a big deal. Maybe I should have kept the knee and back problems a secret. I just went to the doctor for a basic check-up last week and she said I'm in great health. How could they reject me?? The point of this entry was that it hurts to be rejected and makes me mad, even if it's just a stupid health insurance company.
