All too often I see posts of 'how to use social media to promote yourself' and, frankly, I detest them. I am not your eyeball or footfall - I don't want to be advertised at, I want to talk to you. And if, like
squirrel-monkey, you impress me with your ability to write in your journal, and I come to like you and what you stand for, I'm likely to seek out your book preferentially. Long before I buy anything from people who tell me 'buy my book'. (A Secret History of Moscow ROCKS, people. Buy it.)
