It was pretty cold outside and Tegoshi pulled up his shoulders, burying his face in the warm fabric of his shawl.
He stood at a bridge, watching the water floating quietly and calmly, seeing other people come by.
Most of them were couples. It seemed this place was popular for couples to meet up before heading on a date.
He was about to do the same; just with the difference that he’d been waiting for more than twenty minutes already.
Tegoshi sighed and turned around, putting his arms to the railing and resting his chin on them. The cold air made his nose feel as if it was frozen already and he puffed up his cheeks, pulling a face.
He hated waiting.
“Tegoshi!”
He turned and saw Masuda rushing toward him. The older one stopped in front of Tegoshi and let out a long breath, bending down and panting.
“I am sorry”, he said in between short breathes.
Tegoshi frowned. “It’s cold.”
Masuda rose again and looked at the younger one. He reached out his hands to take Tegoshi’s and firmly rub them between his. “I didn’t mean to make you wait.”
Tegoshi pretended a pout, but it soon changed into a smile. “It’s okay. Let’s go somewhere warm.”
Masuda nodded and let go of Tegoshi’s hands, but kept one, lacing their fingers. The light brunette gave him a puzzled look, but followed and didn’t pull his hand away.
They walked in silence, holding hands and Tegoshi noticed his hand getting warmer from Masuda’s touch.
“You’re hands are always warm.”
Masuda threw him a look and smiled. “They have to. In case yours are cold.”
Tegoshi laughed and then spotted a café. “Let’s drink something warm there.”
Following him, the older one held on to Tegoshi’s hand and untied his shawl with the other, when they stepped in.
They got a table in a corner and ordered hot coffee and chocolate.
When they left again, it was dark already and Masuda automatically reached for Tegoshi’s hand again.
The younger one looked at him with a kinky smile and lifted their laced hands, so that Masuda would see.
“My hands are warm now.”
Masuda grinned, before he pulled them to his lips and placed a kiss to Tegoshi’s knuckles.
“We better don’t risk your hands getting cold again.”
Tegoshi didn’t argue, as they walked down the street again; he firmly held onto Masuda’s hand.
They were definitely in love.
