This could be interesting...

So, Saturday morning.  Upstate, as usual.  Mom wakes Gill and I up at like 8 (or rather, we got up at 8 after her bustling around in our room from like 6:30 onwards) and we go to the Trading Post to get milk and glass cut.  Random, right?  Well, we're shopping and Mom goes and gets the glass and tells us later to go pick it up.  Okay, mental image:  I'm wearing an over-sized purple sweatshirt (stupid cold freezer sections) and I think I fell asleep on my ponytail in the car so its all lopsided and a mess.  Gill, who was fighting with Dad is now  not speaking to anyone because she's stubborn and already has paint on her shirt.  So we go downstairs to get this glass and who is there  but this BEAUTIFUL boy named Chris who works there that we've stalked seen before.  So I'm being all flirty-like (well, the best I can do at 8:30 in the morning) and Gill is just standing there...well, I would say looking pretty...I tease, I tease.  He has no idea how much the glass costs so he makes up a price and tells us that's what it costs.  So we go back upstairs and Mom was like "See?  Good thing I brought you with me."

Clearly, this means that all the other times that weekend we went back to the trading post, Gill and I were right there.  We go back on Sunday morning with my Aunt Gina and my cousin Jordan (mostly because we wanted to see him again  but I think we needed more milk?  Who cares..)  By this point Gill is talking so we go in the back door through the basement where he works.  And he was helping someone but he was like "Wait, don't leave, I'll be with you in just a second!"  So we're waiting, and he had to go move some shipping stuff so he was all sweaty when he came back (but still crazy hot) and I tell him what I need.  Basically, I needed just a lid to cover my paella pan without buying a whole grill or something.  He's like, "Well...let me go back to the storeroom and I'll see what I can do."  And he comes back with a just a lid to a Weber grill and calls me over.  So he points and whispers and is like "Okay.  There are two cameras.  One there and one there.  If you go out the back way over here and just walk straight towards your car, you should be fine."  Now, before you all think I stole it, he was still going to charge me for it, it was just...an adjusted price?  But Gill was like "Well, won't you get in trouble if they find a grill without a lid."  And he was like  "Yeah, but don't worry about it."  But we didn't want him to lose his job over something stupid like a lid.  So we just start talking.  He asked us if we lived around here and we were like "Yeah, our country house is up here, but we live downstate."   And he was like, "Ohh!  That's awesome."  Actually, I think he said "Ballin'!" which is hilarious unto itself, but whatever.  And then he told us to come back next week and visit him because that would make his day :)

Yes, I know that took up too much stuff for like a 5 second interaction that probably meant nothing, but god damn was he beautiful.   FINALLY!   A reason (should I do it?) to spend (I think I have to) a Weekend (there's no way out of it now) IN THE COUNTRY!!!!

Sorry to anyone who is going to kill me for that last sentence.  And now as I'm late for lecture, I gotta bounce...

Muppets Take Manhattan on Thursday in the Park.  Let me know if you're coming.  We'll do dinner :)
