Ok so it's not even June yet. But to speak the total truth, my dad isn't doing so well. He's having trouble breathing and is very tired.
I guess it's now or never.
So I went out to get some good ammo today and broke in the Charger. Tested out the action. Made sure it was OK. Totally safe. Zeroed the scope. Then I finally cleaned it up and presented it to him tonight.
He was happy. The action on it was perfect. Trigger pull reduction was just superb. He could pull the handle back and everything. Softening up those areas of the internals was a smart choice.
I'm proud of this. I managed to do good. He didn't tell me it was a bad idea or unnecessary. He genuinely took it without reservations. I guess that's kinda like my dads way of saying "Not bad." (Sorry that was a Titus joke)
I just hope he'll be able to try it out. His appointment to get his health checked is Monday. That's 2 days away. Just hang on Dad. A man can live through two wars, three retirements, four kids, two wives, three blocked heart valves, and agent orange. He still has to see his grandaughter grow up and see me get married. It's far too soon.
