Prompt 261

[ooc: for the sake of my sanity, i'm not going to bother following the new Hulk comics so much as i'll be setting these prompts in the same general AU setting (a combination of Ultimates and the Incredible Hulk movie) i use for rping. i hope that doesn't result in too much confusion.]

Which fictional character would you like to be?

This is probably really pathetic and ridiculous, but I would think there's something to be said for me having been like Edmond Dantès, the Count of Monte Cristo. He gets revenge and he gets his life back. He gets the girl. He gets to actually confront and deal with the false friends who betrayed him or abandoned him earlier on. Most importantly, all the suffering Edmond undergoes eventually amounts to something.

My own personal pains, losses, et cetera have yet to be useful to me personally. Honestly though I can't complain about the people or things I currently have. I like a lot more about my life than I did a few years ago. That's something. The idea of getting the girl is certainly less vital to me than it was a year or so ago, and I'm perfectly willing to admit I'm better off without her. The person I need to deal with isn't Ross or Blonsky or anyone so much as myself.

I don't actually read a lot of fiction so you're just lucky I couldn't think of any Dickens characters. There's probably some awkward guy in an Austen novel I could compare myself to, but I've never read her. If we were going to look at fictional characters I'm actually like though... I guess I'm Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I'm obviously less psychotic, but most people don't seem to believe that.
