Getting back in touch with the parents:
Introducing new make-up ideas to my mom last night, and remembering not being allowed to wear make-up when
I was little. Being able to survey her face in such detail, and realizing how little alike in appearance
we actually are. My father always told me how much I looked like his sister Kris, and hearing it come from
my mother's own mouth the other day only confirms it.
I was cruising online recipes today, and stumbled upon one that made me laugh in disbelief- My father was
either ahead of his time, or just didn't care about what was considered unconventional in the kitchen...
He came up with the
spaghetti omelet. I'm aware of how completely strange and possibly repelling it sounds,
but you work with what you have for first meal of the day... and that just happened to include eggs and
leftover spaghetti. He's done worse, so I can't really can't complain - he once tried to make up for the
lack of milk with eggnog for the scrambled eggs, and it REALLY didn't go over very well. I'm actually a huge
fan of spaghetti, so you can only imagine my delight. Overall, it was a hit. Rock on, dad.
