Song pimping

Look, my canon pimping extends to outside sources! Anyway, a few years ago a singer, Hannah Fury, read Wicked and loved it so much that she released a CD with several songs about Elphaba that she wrote and recorded. Being me, I hunted down these songs. Hannah's a pianist, and the piano makes up most of the music. She sings in a haunting, ballad-like voice that was a lot different than what I was used to, but I came to like it quickly. I love her lyrics, and am now finding her other songs simply because I like the lyrics so much. Anyway, I uploaded the songs that she wrote about Wicked for you guys, in case anyone was interested.

Let It Show (This song is the one I consider my RP song.)

She said, "I've got no soul, I am not Nessarose. That's the way life goes."
I said, "Just let it show, you are not Nessarose
Come on, grab your broom, let's go
Come on, grab your broom, let's blow away"
She said, "I've got no soul, I am not Nessarose. That's the way life goes."
I said, "Just let it show, that you're not Nessarose
Come on, grab your broom, let's go
Come on, grab your broom, let's blow away"
I don't know where she ends and where I begin
The girl with green oily skin, she ends where I begin
I don't know where she ends and where I begin
The girl with green oily skin, she ends where I begin
Look at Dorothy in the sickly sweet undertow
Look at Dorothy, believing and leading them all down the Yellow Brick Road
She said, "I've got no soul"
I said, "You do, though"
She said, "I've got no soul, I am not Nessarose
That's just the way that life goes
That's just the way that life blows away"

It Was Her House That Killed Nessarose

She might fool them but she don't fool me
She talks much too earnestly
And when Glinda gave her the shoes
I had nothing else to lose
And I asked her to please take my hand
I asked her to please understand
They love her so 'cause she's so sticky-sweet
But she just doesn't seem honest to me
And when Glinda asked me to choose
Well, I had nothing much else to lose
And I asked her to please take my hand
I asked her who once was my friend... I thought, 'til the end
And I thought I had the secret to life
I don't, do I? Do I?
And I thought that I had the secret to life
But I don't, do I?
I follow her down the Yellow Brick Road
Chasing her now for revenge, I suppose
She causes destruction wherever she goes
It was her house that killed Nessarose
It was her house that killed Nessarose
That's just the way life goes.

I Can't Let You In

Fiyero, don't tell a soul what you've seen
This is the life that you and I are meant to lead
I can't let you in, 'cause the world is falling to pieces
I can't let you in, 'cause the world is falling to pieces
Fiyero, don't tell a soul a word we speak
I need to know, if I don't make it home, you won't look for me
I can't let you in, 'cause the world will tear us to pieces
I can't let you in, 'cause the world will tear us to pieces
Don't even let them hear you breathe
I'll never see you again, 'cause the world has torn you to pieces
And don't you dare deceive destiny
Her for you, but you for me
And don't you dare deceive destiny
Her for you, but you for me
Her for you, but you for me
For me

All Is Not Well

Don't try to lie to me, I know
My love was politically disposed of
And I didn't see them coming
No, I didn't see them coming for you
For you
Don't try to lie to me, I know
Their crime will never be exposed
And if I had seen them coming
If I had seen them coming
What I wouldn't do for you
All is not well
All is not well
All is not well in the land of Oz
Don't try to lie to me, I know
My love was politically disposed of
And I did not see them coming
No, if I had seen them coming
I'd have chosen you
All is not well in the land of Oz

And Your Little Dog Too

Surrender, Dorothy
Bring me the shoes, dear
Bring them to me
Bring them here, dear
Bring them
If you know what's good for you
If you know what's good
If you know what's good for you
And your little dog, too
You'll bring them here
The shoes, dear
The shoes
Bring them to me
If you know what's good for you, dear
If you know what's just good
If you know what's good for you
And your little dog, too
You'll bring them here
Bring them here
Bring them here
Bring them to me

Of Longing and Otherness (Instrumental - a short pretty piano piece.)

Download them if you're interested in Wicked, or you like the piano, or you just feel like having some different music. ^^ Note: These are not, I repeat, are not, songs from the Wicked musical. They are written and sung by an outside artist, and are based entirely on the novel. (The musical hadn't even been created yet.)

This is her journal entry for reference: meaning, if anyone ends up wanting these songs and they've expired, just let me know and I'll reupload.
