Obviously the thing to do while swamped with overdue schoolwork is catch up in Avatar, Season Three.
OH GOD, "THE BEACH" -- I ONLY STOPPED LAUGHING TO GET WIBBLY, EVEN WITH RUSHED, SOMEWHAT SLOPPY SET-UPS. IF YOU DO NOT LOVE AZULA, YOU ARE A STRANGE THING INDEED, TOO STRANGE.
These are some damn acrobatic kids. I am constantly reminded.
Let's get the negatives over with first, shall we?:
- Something that tends to get to me with Avatar, at times, is the cheese, and it rubbed me wrongly here as well. I'm oversensitive, maybe, to corny things, and I can never be quite sure if I liked it or not -- I'm pretty sure I liked it here, the tearful confessions spilling out and everyone turning on one another and demanding sudden insights into their personality and WOEWOE, but, I still waver on it.
- Guy with Eye BURNYBLOWUP is boring me.
- Wanted moar Ty Lee before this -- I loveloved her, but because she hasn't been in the previous episodes, her little explosion of depth during the confessional bonfire felt rushed and out-of-the-blue. D: Doesn't mean I didn't like it. OH TY LEE. I WANT TO KNOW A LOT MORE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY, NOW.
- Rushed Maiko reunion. I like Maiko, and it isn't that it didn't make a degree of sense, but oh, it really felt as if they were running out of time. So I'd have voted to cut the eye-guy and Aang Gang scenes, except for the rock of Toph and hot of Katara and uh, hey, Sokka had his hair down too and that was hot.
Positives:
- WHOLE EPISODE OH MY GOD. BEACH. I JUST COULDN'T STOP LAUGHING. LIKE I KEPT WAITING TO STOP BUT I COULDN'T. TY LEE AND BOYS AND AZULA AND AZULA AND ZUKO FAILING WITH MAI AND AZULA BEING SOCIALLY RETARDED BECAUSE SHE HAS NO EXPERIENCE AS A TEENAGER AND ZUKO FAILING AND AZULA OH MY GOD AZULA.
- The part of me that is a sore loser, that secretly believes everyone is really a sore loser because who doesn't want to win and if they say they don't they are full of it, fell in love with Azula ever-more-completely at her volleyball speech. KDSAD SO GOOD. YOU WILL NEVER RISE FROM THE ASHES OF YOUR SHAME AND HUMILIATION. AZULA MARRY ME RIGHT. NOW.
- WE ARE PUNCTUAL LDMSALMAS WE ARE PERFECT GUESTS BECAUSE WE ARE PUNCTUAL WHATEVER THE LINE WAS I JUST HAHAHAHA I LOVE YOU AZULA YOU ARE SO FAIL AT TEENAGER.
- .... her being jealous of Ty Lee and having to whisper it but still ADMITTING IT. and Ty Lee being so earnestly admiring of her, and saying they think you'd do something terrible to them and you would, and omgomgomg OTP. OTP. Her boy advice, Azula taking it, oooh Ty Lee you are ever so much more crafty than you are given credit for, you know precisely what you are doing. And that is why they are OTP.
- omgomgomg, siblings, Zuko and Azula, I -- yes. Yes. And she calls him pathetic. AND SHE TAKES A LEAP OFF HIS BACK TO DO THE FINAL HIT IN VOLLEYBALL, WTF, THIS LEAN MEAN OILED FIGHTING FIRE MACHINE.
- Zuko's anger issues. ♥ oh man his jealousy. I was kind of hoping that Mai might have some reaction to the girl reaction to Zuko -- so I wanted to see some girls into him at the party, but, ah, alas, you can't have everything.
- Maaaaaaiiiikoooo, yes. "FOR MY CRANKY GIRLFRIEND". Zuko likes calling her his girlfriend. His ego is way too easily threatened.
- Mai was ... really hot in this.

- so I stopped laughing endlessly when Zuko went to the old house and the memories and and and ;______; his mother, the picture, HIS LITTLE HAND, MY EYES FILLED WITH TEARS AND I WTFED AT AVATAR'S ABILITY TO SWING MY EMOTIONS TO EVERY EXTREME.
- fire kids. issues with family. sloppy, forced set-up, maybe, but so good that I cannot complain. Oh, Azula, I am infinitely more intrigued by you. And all of them. Oh god this episode was so good.
- OH AND THEN THEY TRASHED THE HOUSE. LKDASMDLK I. I JUST WISH WE COULD HAVE SEEN THEIR FACES WHEN THEY SAID 'OH AND WE'RE PRINCE ZUKO AND PRINCESS AZULA, SUCKKERRSSSSSSS' . OH GOD THEY TRASHED IT. THAT WAS SO ARBITRARILY AWFUL AND WONDERFUL.
