This seems to be the year for sad character exits.

My love for Peter prompts me to make a super long response. green_amberjade May 16 2011, 00:09:35 UTC
There were so many things that I loved in the finale, from Peter and Olivia's respective reactions when Ella brought up how Peter was claiming he was from 2011 at the start of the episode and Peter's immediate reaction was to look Olivia right in the eyes and tell her what he made her for breakfast last Sunday. Then there was the discussion about one day having children (a whole tribe of Bishops!), and Walter welcoming Olivia to the family several years late. But my favourite moment was probably when Peter called Walter his dad. There was a great deal of squealing and general happiness at that moment.

If Peter is written off the show from henceforth and no longer exists, all I can say is that I'm not surprised that Peter would make such a sacrifice for Olivia. In this season especially, we've seen that he loves her and that that love has been growing ever since he met her. After spending roughly fifteen years with her, I can easily buy that he loved her more than he ever loved himself. In the end, he would have known that he'd be essentially killing himself by sending back that information to the Present!Peter, and Present!Peter would have understood the risks as well, but as long as Olivia lived and Peter had the power to save her, then there was no question the actions Peter would take. I really, really love this ship. Peter is so amazing (and the heart of the show) that I would not be surprised if he manages to find a way back into existence and back to Olivia and Walter.

On a side note, it's going to be interesting watching those two attempt to function without Peter. That could lead to some interesting scenarios were either character attempts to pinpoint why they feel like they're missing something in their lives. See writers? It is impossible to write out Peter!

While I can't say that I was a huge fan of Fauxlivia at the beginning, especially since it seemed to be a rehashing of the third season of Alias, I agree with you that by the end, my opinion of her had completely changed. Most likely this was Lincoln's fault as he just loves Fauxlivia so much (his reaction when he found out that she was pregnant from a 'one-night stand' was so heartbreaking). But it also helped that she started to have her own issues outside of simply crushing Olivia and Peter - there was the whole thing with her mother, her relationship with the Fringe division, her disease...

Hopefully Peter is the one to give Walternate the finishing blow - it would serve him right.
