2 down... 1 to go

I just finished my second week of Airborne training here at Fort Benning, GA. The weather has been less than cooperative with the daily highs being in the upper 80s and close to 90% humidity. It sure did make all the running we have to do here a lot harder than it should have been. But thankfully, I've survived everything to this point, including a parachute drop from a 250-foot tower, which was the culminating event at the end of the second week. Now all that's left for me to do is make those 5 safe parachute jumps from an aircraft that's in flight. Obviously, the key word there is "safe", meaning I can't break anything or die at any point during those 5 jumps. I'll be making 2 jumps on Wednesday, 2 jumps on Thursday, and 1 jump on Friday. Monday and Tuesday we're off for the Columbus Day holiday. So I'm gonna be resting up, keeping ice on my knees, and eating Motrin like candy until the jumps. I'm fairly confident in myself, my training, and my equipment... but that doesn't make the act of jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft any less nerve-wracking than it sounds. So here's to hoping that everything goes ok next week, and I can get those "Silver Wings" pinned on my chest. By the next time I post on here, I'll be a certified paratrooper.

DEATH FROM ABOVE! AIRBORNE!
