Other thoughts on St. Anna..

Many people have asked me where I got my name.  I had it memorized as a kid too.  "I was born on St. Anne's day and my grandfather's name was George.  My oldest brother came up with Georgianne.  He had known a woman while he was in the seminary by that name."   All my life I have considered Saint George as my patron.  But as I think about it, I was named after St. Anne too!  .

Another thought about St. Anna is one that started with Fr. Athanasy's talk about the miraculous icon.  He said that when he went to Greece, he was speaking with some nuns about St. Anna.  While doing so, he referred to her as Yiayia (grandmother).  They had never thought of her that way and neither did I until last night.  I never knew my grandparents so looking at St. Anna not only as my patron but as my Yiayia, is such a wonderful blessing to me.

Saint Anna, pray for me a sinner.
