Who knew how much fun geekery could be?
So after our own failed attempt at a party, we tagged along with
fwifo to a party he was invited to. Ran into Karl and
sammeelung at the party, and met two pretty terrific people we hadn't known before: Phil and Eric.
We played Betrayal at the House on the Hill (which was horribly lopsided once the house went insane...as did I....I was the traitor) which was a lot of fun. We also played "Tsuro: The Game of the Path" which was fun and fast. Finally, we played 5 games of Bang!...some of them awesome, some of them absolutely HORRIBLE (nothing is worse than Paul Regret the Sheriff next to Rose Doolan the outlaw...SO USELESS AN ABILITY!).
Eric made some terrific Ravioli and there was muchly other foods (none of which I partook in). I made myself a candy apple martini (SO YUMMY!), and also a nice hot chocolate complete with candy cane bits, chocolate chips and marshmallows (SO YUMMY!). We rang in the New Year, and then enjoyed more games.
It was neat meeting a lot of people and just being around a bunch of people. There was one girl there who owns and runs my favourite costume shop in the area, which was cool. I had always wondered what she did to get by during the time between Halloween and order submission in March for custom costumes...the answer is customized synchronized swimming outfits. I always wondered what her bread and butter was.
So yes...much fun. We got home around 2:40 am. I stayed up a little longer and called my sister at 3:00 am (her New Year). Much fun fun fun!
Darcy throws a great party.
