so poor little me got deferred from UF...can't say that i am too surprised, i have neither sterling SAT scores nor GPA. I now must wait until march for a FINAL decision, oh my. Perhaps my phenomenal violin skills will help me here? ha ha. We'll see about that. Luckily though, UF was not my first choice school, so I'm not too bent out of shape over this. I am still auditioning February 10th though. (good luck...to me?)

Anyway, better news. I went to see the Juilliard String Quartet perform friday night. Can we say amazing? why, yes! They played mozart, bartok, and schubert, making, altogether, a very good program. I met up with some fellow string players there (Corbin, Erin...etc) so that was fun.  I kind of felt my excitement fell a little short of Corbin's, who was sitting next to me leaking tears. Yes, they were amazing: there intonation was flawless, their tone was spectacular, but it didn't move me to the point I felt it should. I had a hard time focusing on the music instead of thinking about how uncomfortable the chair was, the whole time thinking what is wrong with me? and it's time like these that make me wonder whether I really want to do music. I love music, playing it, hearing it, being part of something that has the ability to change people's lives, so I know I do, I just wish that performance had made more of an impact. Maybe it was just one of those off nights, I suppose those are allowed.
(this is not to say anything bad about the Juilliard string quartet, I recommend anyone go see them)

however. tomorrow is tuesday, which is a good day for several reasons
start from least exciting (though nonetheless exciting) to most exciting

1) Tuesday television - Gilmore Girls/House MD
2) Senior Breakfast - who is skipping after?
3) FCAT which we no longer have to take as seniors

and
4) RACHAEL LEVY IS COMING HOME TOMORROW!
(does happy dance)
-this last one brings the carpool and lunchtable count up to three and best friends in the country count back up to 2 =)
also...the island trip is happening Emma, and Rach is totally coming (senior trip, hah.)

that's all
