Today was such a feel-good day. First, it was sunny and warm and pretty. I do love the fall, but I'm not THAT eager to let go of summer just yet! Second, when I arrived at work, there was a brand new flat-screen monitor sitting on my desk, just a couple of days after receiving my new CPU. Now all I need are a new keyboard and mouse, then world domination will be mine. Or high work productivity. Either or.
The best part of today was something I've been anxious about. My first annual performance evaluation. I met with my manager for an hour, during which we basically went over this tedious 4-page form that the company forces everyone to complete. For every part of the form, there's a space for me to fill out and a space for the manager to follow-up with his comments. That's the part I was worried about. But it was great! He said the nicest things, and told me that other people I've worked with have been telling him nice things about me. He said that I was one of the best hires he's made. Ha! And that he'll try to get as much money for me as he can come salary review time (which is the next part of this annual performance evaluation). So work is thumbs up for now.
