In the past two weeks, I've been called "fancy" twice, once by my family when they came over to my apartment for lunch, and once by my dear friend Rita (
5ix) when I met her for dinner. Then today, I read a blog entry over at
sfgirlbybay on this very subject of being fancy. In short, "It's just fun to be fancy." And I couldn't agree more!
I think I lead a very simple life, but simple doesn't have to mean plain and boring. For me, it means appreciating the little things, like putting on that just-right accessory, making something yummy from scratch, or putting fresh flowers on the table. It's all girly and domestic, yes, but why would I have it any other way?
This time of year, especially, is all about being fancy. The lights, the food, the decorations, the decadence. Really, why not? And why not be fancy all year round? I embrace The Fancy!
I'm just contemplating on... LJ... paper. I haven't done this in a while.
P.S. I am drafting up a "Fan's year in summary" type of post, kind of for my own memory, and it's getting really long, which implies the obvious: if only I posted more regularly, I wouldn't have to sum up my year in a really long "summary" post. Maybe that'll be my resolution for next year, to post more often.
