Last night, friend point out something revolutionary to me: David Boreanaz--the guy who played Angel from Whedon's shows and Booth on Bones--he did the voice of Leon/Squall in the english translation of Kingdom Hearts. O_o

Hard, yes, but I am having fun writing Hoenheim...although I'm worried my characterization might turn some people off. To summarize, I'm writing him as sorta harsh, cynical, apathetic bordering on slightly sinister...the time period's a speculation on what his state of mind may've been like when he was still sorta with Dante.
He can be fun to write. Hmmm. When I've tackled Dante-era Hoho, I do write him a bit harsh and cynical, actually. Not so much apathetic, but very... harried. I've always gotten the impression that Dante called the shots in the relationship, and bullied and guilted Hoho into going along with her. I see him, at that point, in turns reluctantly appeasing then argumentative and attempting to assert himself. So I don't see your characterization as being very far off, honestly. It's a period in his life that we don't know much about at all canon-wise, and that interpertation of Hoho is a very valid one.
Exactly, Hoenheim's really mysterious at that point, so especially easy to take fanfiction liberties there.
That's something else I didn't mention but you did: I'm writing Hoho subordinate to Dante at that time; it's never stated out loud per se, I preferred to show it--Hoho LISTENS to Dante.
...Ah, can't wait until I can unveil the final piece, and I'm already thinking of another sequel in the works--because, this past!Greed fic is totally a sequel to the "That First Night", the one you reviewed before. (Probably should just give in and make it into a series; just put in tags, give its own memory section....)
Good luck writing Hoho; he's as tough as hell. *sweatdrop*
His nickname's just so ridiculous...but powerful; at times, you just can't resist it. ;)
...Care to read my first past!Greed fic, "That First Night"? It's right here on my still relatively small journal, so shouldn't be too hard to find, and it IS under the Greed tag....
