Before the next FMA episode airs tonight on Adult Swim, had to talk about the last one, "A Rotted Heart". (#45, right?)

Favorite part was the onslaught of Trisha memories Sloth triggered in Hoenheim--the whole flashback montage was beautiful, seeing little Ed and Al, fatherly Hoenheim, but best of all was all that Trisha--god, I love that woman, she's so great.

Also, going back to the episode before "A Rotted Heart", going back to that moment of Al seeing his Dad for the first time in a long time--simply because that moment's just so awesome--very painful angst when Al compares his current self to his flesh-and-blood body from before, best exemplified by that baby photo, and he's all nervous and worried his father won't recognize him at all, and as he prepares to re-introduce himself, Hoenheim surprises him with perfect awareness of who he is. That moment's so lovely because of that, because the angst immediately turns into sweet triumphant surprise. (I say "surprise" since I was just as certain as Al that Hoenheim wouldn't recognize him in the armor.)
