(And this could just be my Norrington obsession talking here...but the song reminds me of him. Let's see, I think the lines most symbolic of him are, "This world may have failed you/"It doesn't give the reason why"/"You could have chosen"/"A different path of life"; also, "no mercy no more". And, I do think the song can be a dark, depressing perspective on ElizabethxNorrington pair, if going completely with the rather large issue of Liz's manipulation, and consequential jilting....)
