Maybe JL(U) was sign, a foreshadowing. No, maybe it was FMA, because it ended a good while before that. (Sure, there IS the movie, and the original manga of course, and I guees those OVA's...but the anime series finished ( Read more... )

I've never read/watched Kenshin....maybe I should? I really don't like action anime, though.

It's more than action, I assure you. There's some gorgeous hotties to drool over! (My opinion, anyway. ^^;) And on more of a plot level, there are interesting themes at play, such as the ends justify the means, as in huge amounts of killing for the "greater good", but the main character is disillusioned by this, recognizes himself as a sinner, and tries to seek redemption; themes such as a study into revenge; and then there's just the characterization of one guy who's basically betrayed by his government when they try to murder him so that he'll never speak of the assassinations said gov. ordered him to do, but he survives and completely snaps, and he's VERY hell-bent against said gov. (That guy also manages to pick up a hot chick--but trust me, theirs is a true love...though it ends pretty badly but then looks up.)

Anime vs. manga...I prefer the manga, and I think people should start with that.

Wow! I never knew it was so deep! I'll try to get a hold of it next year through the anime club at my college! Thanks! :)

Aye, stories like that never end because people will never stop writing fanfics about them. XD

... they're still writing Andy Griffth Show fanfics for crying out loud.

Exactly; fanfic writing keeps stuff alive...and icons, and discussion, and roleplays, and websites, and.... ^^;

Yes, yes, yes! You ought to educate 47thlight on Rurouni Kenshin. I would, but I just don't have the time. It has everything in it - angst, comedy, romance and some action. There isn't an over-abundance of action in it thank goodness. I've watched through episode 83 I believe. I ought to finish it. ^_^
