She is ageless.
Her beauty never fades, and her skin glows unearthly and sunkissed as it always has by his side. The Queen has been dead many years, and he is the last heir of Stormhold -- an old man now, once beautiful and now, with silvery hair and a wise sort of smile, he presides over the castle town with the air of one who knows that he is not long for this world but will persevere as long as he must.
And sometimes even now, in his nut-brown eyes, clouding over with age, she sees the boy. Nut-brown hair and nut-brown eyes and youthful and misguided and everything he should be. Sometimes, she can see him as he used to be, as he once was.
It doesn't break her heart. She knew it would happen -- but even with all her power, there is nothing she can do but watch him die, slowly and peacefully and still so in love.
This makes her feel more guilty than anything else.
