Sorry for taking so long to update. I'm now working at Blockbuster and today was my first day there. The pay is decent, the benefits are nice, and the hours are what I want, so I'm satisfied thus far. It seems like it will be pretty decent work, repetitive at times, but nothing too awful. I can do this for the three months until the fall semester starts, and I can also come back to work over Christmas break, which is another nice aspect. Overall I am pleased.
Not much else to say really... I've been reffing for an indoor soccer league in Tampa, which is interesting in its own right. I am anxious to get back on the (outdoor) pitch though, and the tournament this coming weekend at Disney will be nice. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of old acquaintances and getting some pretty good pay for this weekend. Kate and Aaron: try to leave some time free to hang out, if possible.
I've been reading "Alas, Babylon" the past few days... it's a good book; a bit unnerving at times, considering it's about nuclear holocaust and the story is centered in a town in Florida, and all the major cities have been decimated (Miami, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Tallahassee). At the very least, it's good food for thought.. it would make an interesting movie, methinks.
