I Want My Bed, NOW.
@.@ This trip has gone on long enough. I wanna be home.
Our scheduled disembarkation time from the ship was seven am. This entailed getting up at 5:15. I did manage to get breakfast and see Cris one last time. He really was an awesome waiter. I didn’t see any other waiter praised as much as him.
I got a new ring two days ago with a set of interchangeable stones. When I was putting my hair up this morning, something popped the stone out and it went down the drain. Room service managed to get it out. After we got on the bus to take us to the airport I noticed it was missing again. I took it as a sign and didn’t bother looking for it; though on the way out I do believe I saw it. ((Now that I have made it home and unpacked, I am pleased to say that I found it in the bottom of my carry-on bag. Yay.))
The two hour ride to the airport took four. I am so sick of traveling at this point it only added insult to injury. We got to the airport and discovered the escalators where we checked in didn’t work (and there weren’t stairs, apparently), so we had to go find some.
We managed to get on the plane and have now been on it for twelve hours. We’re coming into LAX and catching the final flight to San Francisco. From there we have an hour’s drive home.
For the past few hours I’ve felt nauseous, and I know I need sleep (it’s one in the morning) but I can’t sleep sitting up. I want to be home, sleeping, in my own bed, ignoring the fact that it’s five pm at home.
We made it into LAX and waited in customs lines during most of hour three-hour layover. Then dad and I split a turkey and avocado sandwich. We spent the final 45 minutes at the gate trying not to fall asleep, though I was the only one who succeeded. My parents have no consideration at all. The least they could have done was alternate who slept. By then it was about four am London time.
The flight to San Francisco took just under an hour and we had a gorgeous sunset on the way in. We landed; got our luggage, found a transport van and an hour later were finally HOME.
We had 29 messages, about half of which were calls and hang-ups. I called Hi-san (Dominic to the forum) and we talked for about an hour (it was seven am London time when we hung up) and I called Terry to let him know I was home. It was great to hear his voice; I missed him so much.
And then it was time to get in bed. MY BED. SLEEP! X3 I was out before my head hit the pillow. I’d been awake for about 26 hours at that point.
BUT I’M HOME, Y’ALL! W00T!
