Okay. What Greeba isn't:
*Grebo. That was a musical/style fad in the late 80s/early 90s involving looking a bit scruffy and listening to early Pop Will Eat Itself records. Which is cool, but it ends in an 'o', and surprisingly many people fail to notice this.
*A district of the Isle of Man. Okay, it is, but that's not exactly going to be the source of my inspiration, as I've never been there and don't own a motorbike.
The Greeba are actually a race of feline psuedo-oriental aliens. They're short, cute, furry and very naughty, mostly appearing as triads and ninjas and the like, one big alien stereotype in a city ram bang full of them (like the mafia-esque Sicilicons...), the future New York of the Big Apple in
The Sleeze Brothers, a mildly amusing short-lived Marvel UK comic that I was a fan of in my teens.
"Where's my bar tab you back end of windy dragon!"
I've been using this as my tag/email address/web domain name ever since my mispent years at uni where I needed a nick to play Quake deathmatches when I was supposed to be writing code or attending lectures. In recent years it has grown into a full-blown nickname which has somehow all but superceded my real name with alot of people. Which is nice, apart from when I get accused of pretentiously branding myself, which I didn't.
