A Crisis Is A Terrible Thing To Waste

So said someone on Air America, quoting someone else. They were saying, of course, that Obama is taking this crisis as an opportunity to truly FIX this goddamn country of ours. I am fucking THRILLED. Taking steps to close Gitmo, lifting the ban on Stem Cell research, undoing the Bush bans on abortion-related foregin aid, establishing an Office of Social Innovation, etc etc etc... It's just amazing. I'm still scared as hell about what's going on in our world, but I'm also SO encouraged. My god the 2000s have sucked, but they sure seem to be winding up on a good note!
