Ruger knives.
BILL HARSEY - OREGON, U.S.A.
Knife making started out for Bill as a combination of growing up hunting and fishing in the outdoors of Oregon and an interest in working steel. Bill started by welding on logging equipment at the age of 15. His interest in heat treating and manufacturing tool steels is core to what he does. Design is a key element for Bill in his work and knowing that the knife continues to be a useful tool in the human hand even in this age of technology.

KEN STEIGERWALT - PENNSYLVANIA, U.S.A.
Ever since he was a kid, if Ken needed a knife, he just made one. His first knife was built from a saw blade at the kitchen table using a vise, files and sandpaper. Needless to say, he’s gone on to create more highly-designed knives that have won 11 Blade Show Awards in seven consecutive years, including two Best Folder awards and one award for Best Folder of the Year. He also co-designed the patent-ed Fire Safe® safety innovation, which is used on many CRKT® knives.
MATTHEW LERCH - WISCONSIN, U.S.A.
Trained initially as a jeweler/watchmaker, he progressed into manufacturing and tool making. Now he has a few patents under his belt for innovations, like the Fire Safe®, and has been honored with some prestigious awards including the Buster Warenski Award. Matt views knives as functional art, as evidenced in his Moxie™ and Blade Show Award-winning Endorser™ design.
ROBERT CARTER - TEXAS, U.S.A.
Knife making with a family tradition. Robert Carter of Texas is the son of Joe Pardue and grandson to Mel Pardue. He started by helping his grandfather in the shop as a young kid, then began helping his father make knives. Robert has been designing and making knives on his own for several years and he creates detailed master-level knives crafted with high grade materials. In his latest knife design, his inspiration comes from the military’s need for rugged and purposeful gear.
RYAN JOHNSON - TENNESSEE, U.S.A.
The fireplace is never without wood at the Johnson house. That’s because for years at RMJ Tactical, Ryan has been building some of the finest custom Tomahawks this country has ever seen. Applying modern engineering to centuries-old tool and weapon concepts, he redefined the role of Tomahawks in law enforcement and Special Forces military applications.
