Election difference - US & Canada

One of things I've been watching is the USA prepare for a future election.  What the heck do I know anyhow!

As a Canadian, I find the American election process so challenging-  and long! -  I'm glad Canadians  don't have to go through as much  to elect a Prime Minister.  Not that I'm against the way things are done in the US - there's a lot of fun observing the race.  It seems torturous for anyone to decide to run on any side.   You'd think someone was trying to get into heaven or something.  Even that's got to be easier.

Over here, in Canada, when we decide were going to have an election, we only spend so much time campaigning and even that tires out the average Canadian.  It's a "Let's get on with the show" attitude.  We don't need to raise millions of dollars to find our supreme candidate. Yes, money is important to run an excellent campaign, but it seems the American way isn't as democratic as anyone might think.  If you want to run as a third party your chances of success are minimal.  It  takes big bucks to get to the White House by the looks of things.  It takes backing and money.  No money, no chance, baby.

We do need backing here and we do need money.  I just can't imagine doing things the way American folks do.  Then again you're used to the way things are done and I suppose you'd find no other way would work for you.  We can't mess with things the way they are.  It would seem scandalous to suggest any other way.  Your way is historic!

Agreed, I may not know much about how things are done in America - or in politics - as far as running for President is concerned, but I know that I'd be itching to get rid of George Bush.  He may be an excellent human being as far as a Father and a husband is concerned; I'm just not sure any one person should have that amount of power.  No one man should have chosen to go to war and continued to do so without the backing and support of his nation.  Then again what do I know.  I'm just a woman, right!

Folks, this is an average Josephine opinion from a Canadian woman.  A person could build a cruise ship well before this election is done.
