If it's posted on the internet it's public property
I joke about that because a picture I made of a few of my Doctor Who items shows up time and again on people's websites. I'm flattered in a strange way by it. Here's the latest website I've found hosting the image:

It's the top right one; the sonic screwdriver with tardis key sitting on the scarf. I did that with a flat bed scanner more than 10 years ago with the intent of it being a desktop image for me. I put it up on a website I had back then and also gave permission to a friend of mine to use it on his website. Since then I've seen at least 3 new websites a year show up with that picture as part of the site.
It's sort of like finding Waldo at this point.
