yeah i'm really lucky, i come by my poem-loving honestly from both parents. made me hate poetry and writing as a kid, actually. silly, contrary me...and now i'm a poet of sorts. go figure, heh.
My younger sister has been on life support in a Critical Care hospital unit for several weeks and I just came home for the night to collapse when I decided to check LiveJournal just to see what was there. This was a really amazing poem to get to read. My mom and I were talking earlier today about how you would think that the other people in such a stressful waiting area would be aloof at best, but they are not: people are enormously generous, funny, gracious, and, above all else, simply kind. This poem exactly sums up why that would be. Thanks so much for sharing this.
...and thank you so much for sharing that. you're very welcome. and love to all of you. i don't pray, but i do send positive energy. you'll be in mine.
yeah, this poem is really special...my mom has no idea how much it meant to me for her to read that. the last 6 months has been one of the hardest, scariest times of my life so far. i'm still alive and kicking, but it's people's kindness that's kept me going...you know how it goes.
