The job situation: I went through something so similar, but I didn't go back...wasn't really an opportunity to. It was when I was first getting into the OTH thing that about a year later I was laid off from my job after nine years there and it wasn't done all that nicely either. It definitely took a long time to recover from that emotionally, to feel of value again at what I do, working with kids.
I can imagine it's so hard going back to a job in the kind of situation you spoke of. I couldn't even think of facing the administration again after I was laid off, the way it was done. You're strong to have gone back and I see it paying off for you. There will be something else around the corner probably when you least expect it, a job where you can start new and fresh. I do see that for you because you are so hard working and dedicated.
So I hope you feel confident about that. I know it's hard looking for a new job, but try to keep up the search along with the one you have now. It's out there Pat. I found my new job mostly on accident and though it wasn't my first choice, I'm working with awesome people and amazing kids. It's often something we don't really think is what we want that...is the best for us. So I'll hope the best for you on that, but I feel confident you'll find it.
Your brother: I'm so sorry. You know you don't have to explain to me his character. You know I understand that drinking is simply an addiction that has to be hard to fight, and is hard to watch someone deal with. Hopefully he will get shortened time for good behavior. It sounds like he just made an awful mistake and I hope for you and your family that it all works out.
Yay for your sister expecting a little girl! My aunt tried 3 times, after having three boys and then kind of uh...gave that pursuit up, lol. This is such a wonderful blessing for your family and you get another wonderful time to be a special aunt!!
Yay for your nephew graduating. My oldest niece will be doing the same in two years and I just can't believe it how much she's grown. Amazing.
And yay for music, basketball and movies. I'm glad you're finding that silver lining in all things. And I'm glad once again you posted.
