RCBB update

Bernie Black, cornetist and concertmaster, and apparently personnel manager of the River City Brass Band, e-mailed me back today and said that the audition committee and Denis Colwell screened my resume and decided not to extend an invitation to audition.

So, basically, I'm still stuck playing crap music in crap bands, which is probably half the reason I didn't get a chance - the crap bands aren't impressive enough on a resume to get me anywhere, but if I quit those bands I won't be playing anywhere at all.

Musically, I've always been a perfectionist nobody who happened to have some talent, frustrated with my colleagues' apathy toward their own shortcomings (which in a lot of cases, I hate to say it, are multitudinous).  I was really hoping that this would change my luck, but with every day that goes by it looks more and more as if I will always be that talented nobody stuck in bands that make me want to go postal.

music, job hunt
