Steak

So I went to ShopRite today, because they're having this deal where you get a 5 pound bag of potatoes for 2 bucks, and I'm like, "Holy shit potatoes!" so I'm right over there.

But...

The deal is, you need a store card, otherwise it's 3 bucks.

3 bucks for a bag of potatoes is still ok, but I felt cheated, so I decided to stick it to the man and not buy any.

But...

I still had come all that way (ok, 6 blocks) and I was about to leave without anything, so I decided to check the aisles for any genuine deals not involving their stupid store card. I found an Angus top round steak for 4 and change, and bought THAT instead (stickin' it to the cows).

So I know nothing about steak, except that it is tasty and you can cook it on stovetops; also, it tastes good with garlic, but what doesn't? I look up "top round", and it's actually a tough cut of meat and I probably shouldn't have bothered to buy Angus and pay top dollar for it when I could have gotten it from an ordinary, although equally dead, cow.

So I figure I need a marinade for this sucker. I look up marinades. They're all asking for garlic powder, onion powder, hahaha, Pippi thinks garlic powder tastes funny so we always have actual vegetable type garlic here. Same on onions. Where's that cooking oil? We're all out? Fuck...

RECIPE:

I cut up a small onion and 2 cloves of garlic, and quickly heat them in a pan full of red vinegar. I let it simmer noisily until the onions turn translucent and the garlic gets soft. Then I pour the hot vinegar and the vegetables into a big ziplock already containing the steak, add more vinegar, add a little soy sauce, seal it, and stick the thing in the fridge.

Most online recipes I see recommend 4 hours, so the steak should be ready for cooking by 9 pm.
