The Countdown

Well, I am now at 3 and a half months out from my wedding. The closer we get the more shit seems to go wrong. Like flowers. Brandi and her mom decided to go with the same florist that Brandi's cousin used. There were apparently all sorts of issues with them so Brandi and her mom in turn started freaking out about our flowers. Hopefully they will calm down soon about it. Then we almost lost the church because some new minister decided that no one who didn't belong to the church could have their wedding there. Luckily, the wedding coordinator at the church was able to keep him from nixing our reservation, but it's another one of those close calls that's going to eventually drive me insane if this keeps up.

On a somewhat related note, what kind of insanity is this: Brandi's mom arbitrarily decided for us that we were going to take all of the group pictures before the wedding because she doesn't think people will be able to wait half an hour after arriving at the reception for us to get there to start eating. To get around this they are telling me we have to have some type of snack or to let them eat before we get there. What happened to people having a little fucking patience and self control? I mean is it really going to kill our guests to wait? And what the hell happened to the tradition of the groom not seeing the bride until she walks down the aisle? When did that suddenly become something that could be flouted to appease others? This should be a non-issue but because I want to wait to see Brandi in her dress, I get to do the appeasing by having our family cover the costs of snacks at the reception hall. And then they used it as a good excuse to change what alcohol we're providing, something that was settled on back in January. Shoot me now.
