A Thanksgiving Story

All is well, Thank goodness An is an Alpha of supreme magnitude. She can calm terriers, or anyway convince them to not be holy terrors. (I would say that it is because it was her baby Fee being harassed, but really, she just gets it, when it comes to being calm assertive)Thursday was great, but on Fri, Troop decided to worry Fee (to death if possible) and An just would not have it. 20 min of corrections (which meant looking at ads etc was not happening) and he decided it was easier to do what she insisted on than to keep giving Fee "The Look" Anyway, it was great, and Al and I are coming along, with R and An guiding the way.
Thursday was wonderful. Once Troop and Missy stopped harassing Soo. Soo is a BIG black Greyhound, and the calmest dog I have seen. (and no An to help us) so we did get them to stop going for his legs and belly, (it really isn't as violent as it sounds, they are terriers and can be yappy bitey little dogs if not corrected. but with a leash and some direction, they finally got it and would lay next to Soo, since a corner with a pad was all he really wanted, (and a little peace and quiet)
So it was not a disaster, it was wonderful, E LOVES Missy, he can pick her up and she just hangs there, he sits and she is on his lap or on her back next to him, begging for attention. He found a flashlight and ran her ragged in the back yard chasing the light. Both of the dogs slept like logs, and they are more "socialized" every day.
Oh, and the people portion of the Thanksgiving was wonderful too. 1 Smoked and 2 roasted Turkeys, a ham, mashed pot. and a sweet/gold potato dish, THE greek salad and green beans, pumpkin and THE apple pie, and chocolate fondue. All so good.
So thankful.
