Well, so Coakley has lost... which means the healthcare bill, in anything remotely resembling its current form, is probably dead.
I hate being in this position. On a practical level we need legislation under whatever circumstances. But righteous indignation has the better of me. There simply is no way that this loss (the Senate seat or the bill) is not the Democrats' fault. I said before that the entire party deserves a big black eye over the way they have handled our affairs so far, and it appears to be on its way. And it could suck. A lot. For everyone. But I stand by my assertion, and hope that it will not only be justice done, but ultimately improve things in the long run.
...assuming the Republicans don't mess things up too badly in the meantime...
...which they probably will...
