I know that seeing eye dogs are trained to find crosswalks, and such. While I'm not at all sure that this dog could be a seeing eye dog, especially since you didn't mention him/her being attached to a blind person; perhaps it was a runaway seeing eye dog, which may be one of the saddest things I've thought about. Imagine not only losing your dog, but also your eyes on the same day. As Andy would say, true story.

I always wonder about the GTA games, and violent video games and movies in particular. I'm pretty adamant against censorship, and at the same time really fear about socializing kids (especially of the boy variety) to violence. They've done some amazing studies that really seem to suggest at least a strong correlation between violent video games and violent behavior, but it's chicken and the egg, quite often. Are people made more violent from playing violent games, or is it that people predisposed to violence are drawn to those images more often than those who aren't.

Unfortunately, it has been deemed incredibly unethical to take a group of kids unexposed to violent video games and raise one with violent games and movies and the other group without them to see.
