And Yes. I'll be writing a story on this for my Journ class. I have to finish it before Sunday and let's just say I'm putting all my notes and all stuff and violent reactions I remember here to help me with the details later on.
The event was hosted by Dr. Jovy M. Peregrino, Director, Sentro ng Wikang Filipino. And I just now knew, thanks Google, that he's a Doctoral Graduate. TRUST me, you wouldn't realize that if you watched him just a while ago.
So ... his introduction to the event included the history of this Hagikhikan... He said it started in 2008, the UP Centennial. And she. she was dressed as a girl at the start. he started out with this dramatic speech about professors aren't just all about research *coughsughresearchcoughs*, publications, reports, teaching, etc.
And he said that if they, professors didn't want to die early we might as well do something like this every once in a while.
And he also said that this event only shows that "May mga sining sa loob ng mga puso ng mga guro sa UP Diliman."
"Ito na ang pagkakataon nyo na pagtawanan ang inyong mga teachers!" He added. Attributing to the fact that YES. They (the professors) know VERY WELL that students have ill-feelings for them. "Don't worry though. The feeling's mutual." he assured the students.
So yeah. And then he said that the first time this event was held, it was such a success (4,400 tickets sold) so they decided to continue it.
So for each of the colleges performances we have:
Chancellor Sergio S. Cao did a solemn song... a few lyrics I caught: "Iisa lang ang buhay mo mangarap ka. Aabutin mo."
Asian Center did a multi-cultural (wow. so appropriate) presentation. I found it boring though. And the EmCee did say it was "Malumany pero malaman." to which... I totally agree. I forgot the message though. SHAME ON ME.
NEXT: EDUCATION. Sorry. it just had to be in all caps. because it's their first time joining and because it's my college. The dean was in an AFRO and she was so awesome. (Okay, if I was in Journ class my prof would say: AWESOME? How awesome? what made it awesome? we need details. PUT SOME DETAILS.) But scrap details I'm too overwhelmed. and my Educ Psych prof. she was wearing a ... wig with red highlights. and -- *coughs*
Anyway~ The dean was really energetic, you could totally see her stand out and move and jive there in the center stage... but if one broaden's the view.. She is too energetic that the other performers at the side seem like they're not putting THAT MUCH effort. Optical illusion much?
CSSP: The people who sang: "ALL I want FOR Christmas is TENURE." oh. and they were composed of two groups: Spice Balls and BackStreet Balls. Yeah. 'Balls.'. They even had props. like. OH-KAY.
CHK: Totally Human Kinetics. :)) They did aesthetics, and tumbling, and cheering. All of their fields into one synchronized performance.
CAL + Archaelogical Studies Program + Soler. They ruined my childhood. They did a mash up of fairy tales. The little mermaid in particular. They incorporated it in Jessebel and named they're character Jessariel. (Ariel from the little mermaid. Get it?) And well the costume of Jessariel was totally Ariel.. just saying. And WHAT IS SO FREAKING FUNNY is that jessariel's love interest turned out to be... gay. Oh. for the love of--
And thus their ending line was: "Alam mo naman Jessariel sa panahon ngayon. Ruler na lang ang straight."
After which... there was a Q&A. And OH-MY. The questions were ... sabaw by all means. INFORMAL.
Have I mentioned? It seems that the main attraction of this event is uhmm... sensual stuff. It totally seemed like it.
Anyway~ the questions were:
1) ...blah... blah.. matches... draw.. something totally random and nonsensical here.. and then. "May I see your penis?"
2) EmCee explains about Naruto Kage Bunshin no Jutsu... and then asks the question "Kaya rin ba i-Kage Bunshin ang puso mo.?"
3) EmCee asks a person to sing this Tagalog song with the word 'Kanan'... and then asks. "Anong ginagamit mo kaliwa o kanan?" <--- I don't get this really.
4.) She asked us to sing the clap song.. on the Princess Sarah Characters... "Sarah sarah.. mabait.. Lavigna, Lavigna, Inggitera... something like that. LOL." and suddenly asks... "Asan si Becky?" And oh. dear. //OTL
ANYWAY~ After this so off-topic segway. break.
ENGINEERING. Kolehiyo ng mga EngEng. according to the EmCee
They did an imitation on MMK ... I think. And their performance consisted of mixing Folkdance with modern music. They totally did.. NOBODY to Tinikling. It was so cute. But the tinikling really wasn't executed well.. since... yeah. they're not dancers.
And their performance had a lot of talk. If you know what I mean. It's somehow filled with lessons still. They ended with a line on mixing uso and gusto.
AFTER WHICH came Architecture. AND OH MY DEAR. Did I say it was freaking Sensual.? Well now I did.
And oh. Dear there was this.. uhmm... not-so-young-lady who was dancing something not most of the people in her age gap would dance. And yeah. It was all sexy dance.
NEXT. is from the College of Music. With a wonderful rendition of "WE will rock you." Which isn't really rock... but it still rocks. (LOL. what a fallacy of equivocation. My PHilo1 Prof. would scold me.)
And they totally edited the lyrics... like this one: (sang to the first stanzas of we will rock you.)
"Come to Diliman we have a naked man...blah... blah.. If you wanna join them just cover your face."
And then they did a swing dance. "It don't mean a thing, if you ain't got that swing."
NEXT. ANOTHER CUTE. THING.
CHE. Combination of Hotness and Elegance says the EmCee.
And yes... it holds true. They were so ♥ . They wore cat costumes and did pole dancing. I scratched out the pole dancing part just in case you thought It was also one of the reasons why I ♥ their performance.
After that. CMC. Chinismis ang Masahistang Chinito.
Their performance was very organized. They did a sorta through-the-years thing. From Body Dancer, Beat it, Lambada, Always, Macarena, Ketchup Song, to Waka Waka. It sorta centralized on those songs that we Filipinos didn't really know what they mean yet these songs were famous. Yeah. you get the drift.
NEXT IS THE SO AWESOME AND ARTSY FINE ARTS.
And they showed off their VERY REALLY DETAILED, HUGE, REALISTIC COSTUMES on sea creatures. SO AWESOME. And they're opening statement was: "Follies ba? Ay. Hindi ba Lantern Parade na?" (EPIC. I TELL YOU)
AND THE EVENT DREW TO A CLOSE... with President Roman's symbolic leaving of her position as UP President. Yeah. There was a recorded speech and all she did was smile and wave at the audience. Oh. and she was also teary-eyed.
The recording was about how sad endings were... but it wasn't really the end. Since what we've taught what we've been through will always stay. Something like that.
AND THEN FINALLY. THE UP PEP SQUAD DID THEIR THING AND THE WHOLE THEATER SANG PASKO NA NAMAN. with the lights all on in the background it was BEAUTIFUL.
BTW. The audience gave the performers a standing ovation.
And the EmCee was totally hillarious... and the script of the EmCee was awesome as well. He sang songs in between, cross-dressed, and really you guys would say.. 'bitched' his way through everyone's hearts.
Well, the event was fun. And somehow, I didn't think UP would actually hold such an event. I mean, it sounded like it was all formal and all. But when I got there. OHDEAR.
Students actually like this-- and no. I'm not saying I didn't like it. I'm just .. almost there? *shot*
FEW MORE NOTES: I went to the event with Friends... including

third. My P100 is so uhmm. not wasted.
Fourth. I went to SM centerpoint after the event and bought clothes. OHMY I'm a teenager? O.o I mean. I... I'm just IDK. The feeling's new. I.. I don't know.
FIFTH. I need to start packing. OHDEAR. Packing actually is supposed to start a week before travel date.. but OHDEAR. I haven't even started and its... 3 days. >.< and I still have assignments to do.
