As far as I know, The Rift doesn't snatch people from underground bases and sticks them in the middle of unknown, non-alien cities. Space/time travel does, however, give you one hell of a headache when done through such crude means. Which I don't have.

This, of course, begs the question; where/when am I, and how did I even get here?

[Martha is obviously happy to see him but can't say as much ;D do note the sparkly rock on her hand that wasn't there the last time he saw her]

Martha- What are you doing here? [a wide grin appears on his face and he moves forward, hugging you tightly] About time I saw a familiar face around here, wherever the hell we may be.

[hugs him back tightly, then pulls out her notepad and pen so she can write

"So you've never been to Template before?"]

[look turns to one of concern as you start to write] No; Luke mentioned another version of me being here before, one that he befriended.

But never mind that. More importantly; what happened to your voice?

[dr_martha_jones]

[waves a hand at the voice comment then writes again

"Don't know. It was gone when I woke up yesterday morning. Odd things happen here in Template. This is one of the more tame."]

But is it permanent?

You make it sound like the world's out to screw with people.[as you waved your hand around, his eyes caught sight of something shiny. now that he can get a better look, he finally realizes what it is. can't help but quirk a small smile] So that boyfriend of yours finally got around to proposing, huh? I'm guessing congratulations are in order, Mrs. Jones.

["The longest things last is a week roughly. Except the normal people seeing us. They didn't used to be able to to do that."

She grins and looks at her ring, a slightly wistful look crossing her face for a moment.

"Yes, he did. Thank you, Jack."]

Normal people seeing us?

[hugs her again, this time lifting her up as he let's out a laugh, setting her back down a moment later] Traveling with the Doctor, saving the world, becoming a full-fledged Doctor, and now getting married to boot? You've had a pretty busy life; don't forget to let the rest of us catch up.

["The people that live in the city normally, not those of us that were brought here. When I first arrived they couldn't sense us at all."

she laughs, though silently as she regains her feet

"'Never do tomorrow what you can do today,' my mum says, 'cause you never know how long you've got.'"]

So some people actually belong to this city.

[he can barely keep his expression straight as he crosses his arms, nodding sagely. the corners of his mouth twitch up before he even starts to speak] Wise words for one so young.

["Before only a few people knew we were here. I got pulled back home a little over a month ago and when I came back the rest could see us too."

she smiles benignly, and shakes her head a little at him

"It's what happens when you spend time with the Doctor. You start taking little sayings like that seriously."]

You went home and got pulled back again? Maybe there having been another version of me isn't the only explanation....not exactly thrilled with the other option, though.

[drops the act, smiling fondly at her] Traveling with the Doctor does tend to do things like that to you. But no matter what, I wouldn't trade my travels with him for the world. Or the universe for that matter. [pauses a moment] Would you?

["Same thing happened to the previous you that was here. I thought that was what happened this time, but you don't remember being here before."

This would be so much easier if she could just walk, or type even. But those text-to-speech devices were too expensive.

"No, never. For all I want to stay on Earth, I'm a better person for seeing all that."]

[is actually starting to look a little annoyed by all this] Whoever is in charge of this place has a screwed up sense of humor....

Things would be that much easier if he were actually here; might actually know why all this is even happening...

["They rather do."

she glances to the side a little

"He had been here. The one I know and the one before him. And they were just as stuck as the rest of us."]

His previous regeneration was here too.....

And just my luck, I even manage to miss my Doctor this time.
