This is partly for myself and partly for
hoshinekoyasha. It's not really a full story but kind of part of one and I don't know if I'll ever get to writing more around it. *shrug*

"Girl! Where are you, girl!?"
The voice was both recognizable and wholly unrecognizable. The sounds were coming from a man Charley recognized as the Doctor but the tone was entirely not.
Charley pushed herself across the floor as silently as possible so as not to attract attention. He was the Doctor but he wasn't. She didn't understand. Leaning against a wall in a dark corner Charley stopped to catch her breath.
"What is going on?" she whispered to herself.
The TARDIS was darker than ever before. Not dead or off, just dark. It was as if it were hiding like her or becoming something else along with the Doctor.
The Doctor screamed in rage and Charley flinched. He was a few corridors off in his search for her and Charley could hear him knocking things over and alternating between cursing her and pleading for her help. His whimpers for answers made her want to go to him but she knew things weren't right. She couldn't tell if the pleas were genuinely the Doctor trying to reach out to her or this "Zagreus" trying to trick her.
"Zagreus," she breathed. "How is this possible?"
"I'll find you, girl!" Zagreus roared from inside the Doctor. A moment passed and Charley could hear nothing but her own panicked breathing until the Doctor's voice broke the silence. "Please. Help me. I can't... " his voice choked off and died out.
Charley's body ached at hearing him sound so lost but she didn't dare move. He was closer now and heading in her direction. She looked around desperately for something she could use to possibly fight him off with but there was nothing but TARDIS walls and TARDIS doors. She blinked. A door across the corridor slowly opened as if inviting her inside.
Footsteps. She could hear footsteps.
"You can't hide forever, girl!" The Doctor's voice threatened.
Charley slid up the wall. Her palms were sweaty against the cool wall of the TARDIS and she wasn't sure if she found it reassuring or not. The doorway still lay open for her, providing her with an escape or a trap but it was going to have to something she chanced.
She took a breath to prepare for making a run for the open door when the Doctor appeared from around the corner. His face contorted into snarl and he reached for her.
"Get off my ship!" he growled.
"Doctor, no!!" Charley cried out as she dodged his grab for her. She ran to the door without looking back.
"Get back here, girl!" the Doctor's voice sounded more alien, she thought. It was her last thought before slamming the door closed just as the Doctor was about to reach it. She felt him crash against it and she fell, landing on the floor.
Charley fought her way to her feet, expecting the Doctor to rush through the door but it didn't open. She heard him fighting against it and the door shook as he battered on it but it did not open. It was something else she didn't understand but at the moment she wasn't inclined to worry about it.
"Get out here, girl!" The Doctor shouted in that alien sounding voice. So harsh and almost scratchy. To emphasize his impatience and anger the door shook as he continued his attempt to knock it down.
"Doctor, what's wrong with you?" Charley asked through the door separating them.
The Doctor- no - Zagreus laughed and Charley felt cold. She wrapped her arms around herself as if that would help her frozen heart.
"I told you, girl! I am not your Doctor!" The door shook again. "Charley, please. I-I... I need help." It was the Doctor's voice but just as the trick didn't work earlier Charley resisted the urge to open the door to him.
"What can I do to help you, Doctor?" Her voice sounded shaky to her own ears.
"Help? Help?!" The cold rage in the words made Charley flinch. "I don't need your help. I am Zagreus!"
Charley stepped away from the door as it shook again, moving further into the room. It was dark but there was still enough light to see by. Charley realized she was in a room that the Doctor usually cared to read in. There were shelves full of books but it was by no means the library. That was a vast room that reached high to the tops of the TARDIS ceilings. This room was small and on a normal day would be called cozy. Charley felt anything but cozy in there at that moment.
She heard Zagreus screaming at the TARDIS in the hallway. Maybe it was the TARDIS that was keeping him out, keeping her safe the only way it knew how. Charley smiled at the walls in thanks but she knew she couldn't stay locked away, hiding from Zagreus forever.
"Oh TARDIS, what do I do?" she asked quietly, more to herself than to the TARDIS because she did not expect an answer.
Suddenly Charley was somewhere else. She took a step back in surprise. It was a room, bright in comparison to where she had just been and Charley shielded her eyes against the light. Candlelight. The light seemed to die out before it reached the ends of the room so all she could see was a massive bed, the rest was darkness.
"Where am I?" she whispered to herself. "TARDIS?"
Charley moved toward the bed and the light, hoping to find some clues as to where she was. A nightstand next to the bed had no drawers and had nothing on it but the burning candle.
"Charley."
She spun around to find the Doctor standing a few feet away. Charley backed up against the night stand.
"Charley, it's me," The Doctor said with a smile.
"I don't understand," Charley said. The Doctor took a step forward and had that look on his face that Charley knew meant he was about to explain something that he felt should be obvious. "Stay where you are!" she interrupted that explanation.
The Doctor stopped and planted both his feet on the ground.
"Charley, it's me. The Doctor. There's no need to be frightened."
"No, something's not right." Charley had nowhere to go and nothing to fight with. She wasn't even sure she could fight if she had to. Not the Doctor. "You're not right."
The Doctor looked confused and hurt. He held out a hand and waved her toward him. "Come, Charley. You have to trust me."
Charley didn't move which made the Doctor frown.
"You aren't the Doctor."
"What do you mean? Of course, I am."
"You aren't the Doctor and this isn't real. We were in the TARDIS. I wasn't here a minute ago," Charley said as she looked around. It was starting to feel like the room was getting smaller but that had to be impossible. The darkness beyond the candlelight felt like it was crushing in on her but she was standing safely in the light.
"You aren't the Doctor and this isn't real," she repeated. "You're not the Doctor. You're... You're Zagreus."
The Doctor laughed but there was something more behind the laugh than the Doctor's amusement.
"Zagreus! Zagreus isn't real! He's just a nursery rhyme."
The darkness seemed heavier and the Doctor laughed again but it wasn't the Doctor at all.
"Doctor?"
"Zagreus sits inside your head," the Doctor recited.
Whispers on the air seemed to be repeating him.
"Zagreus lives among the dead."
Charley's ears were filled with soft whispering voices repeating. Repeating his words over and over. Charley put her hands over her ears but it did not help.
"Zagreus sees you in your bed."
Charley was instantly lying in the bed and she had no idea how she got there. The voices were still whispering, all over top one another and she could barely make out the words.
Zagreus sits inside your head. Zagreus lives among the dead. Zagreus sees you in your bed.
"And eats you when you're sleeping."
The voices suddenly vanished as if they never existed and at the same instant The Doctor appeared standing at the foot of the bed looking down at Charley.
Charley gasped in surprise, shrinking into the bed.
"Doctor, please!" Charley pleaded.
"There's so much in here," Zagreus said as he pointed to his own head. His voice was heavy with the Doctor's but rough around the edges of the words. "So much about this ship. So much about these worlds you would call home. So much about you."
He moved around the bed and sat down on the edge beside her.
"Your Doctor wants. Wants."
"I don't understand. Doctor?"
Zagreus appeared conflicted and he regarded Charley as if he didn't know what she was.
"Where are we?" Charley asked.
"On my ship. In my ship," he answered. "It doesn't matter. I have you now."
"Have me?" Charley began to pull away from him. "I don't know what you mean by that but I if you lay one hand on me you'll be sorry."
"You're only a small human girl."
"I'll show you--" Charley's words cut off as Zagreus reached out with the Doctor's hand and touched her cheek.
Her mind knew nothing else other than the images and feelings suddenly rushing her. She saw nothing but the Doctor and herself. Or was that Zagreus?
On the bed she was lying in she saw herself stretched out with the Doctor above her. His skin slid against hers and she felt warm. His fingers stroked across her legs and she felt alive. If she had been in charge of her own mental state at that moment she would have blushed profusely.
The Doctor was between her legs, a reassuring yet dangerous smile spread across his lips. He licked her gently and Charley had never felt anything like it. She gasped and the Doctor continued his attentions. He did things with his mouth and touched her in ways she had never even considered. Charley closed her eyes, losing herself in her passion and soon found that she was moaning.
"Doctor!" she breathed.
Charley opened her eyes and sat up straining for breath. She wasn't on the bed any longer but was instead in a large chair. She looked around and realized she was back in the TARDIS, in the room she had been in before the "dream".
A scuffling of feet on the floor caught her attention and Charley looked up as the Doctor stepped out of the shadows of the room.
"Doctor?"
The corners of his mouth teased as if they wanted to smile but were fighting it. He remained silent as he looked down at her.
"Zagreus?"
A grin broke across his face but there was nothing reassuring in his features that Charley could find.
"That's right, little human girl," he said.
END.
