To Boldly Age...

I just used Memory Alpha to figure out how old the people on Star Trek: The Next Generation were in season one. The first season was the year 2364.

At 32, I'm currently older than Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) and LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge) were when the show first aired, and exactly as old as Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) was. Everyone else was older than I am now. However, the character ages paint a different tail. I'm currently older than everyone on the show, save O'Brien, Beverly Crusher, and Picard.

I find several things interesting here. Picard is more than a decade older than the actor who played him, and twice as old as - or 30 years older than - his first officer. Worf was a youngster on the show, only 24 years old at the start, and younger than everyone save Wesley, and only 8 years older than him. Data of course is timeless, being built to appear of a certain age and remaining fixed there, but it's still interesting to realize he's younger than almost everyone, yet still older than baby Worf.
