The story does remind me of how Cat (the 22# ginger tabby hunter I've written about on my own LJ) used to chase squirrels on the roof of the house... at first I was worried he might lose track of where the edge of the roof was and hurt himself, but he never did. It was comical to hear the skitter of a squirrel followed by the much heavier thumps of him chasing across the roof. I don't know that he ever actually caught a squirrel, but he sure seemed to enjoy the chase. ;)
I presume you know you should never pick up an adult cat only by the scruff; using that reflex to deal with a struggling cat is one thing, but you should support them with the other hand so not all their weight is being borne by the neck.

The " Ceiling Cat is watching you" story is amusing only because no kitties were hurt. :)
How did you get that " Monorail Cat" icon to fit??? I've been trying to put the same exact icon in my LJ for a year now, and it won't fit, no matter how much I resized it. :(
Glad you are still able to do some projects!
Having a back up generator is a good thing.
Being able to move it where you want it is a good thing as well!
