Another trip made to the (new) doctor today. I'm hoping this time does the trick, if not, I'll have to go under the knife for bunch of work to hack out space in my lumbar vertebrae to make room for that confounded nerve bundle that has the nerve wanting it's space the same size as it was a few years ago.
A little bit of funny happened during the prep as I was walking to the OR. The nurse gave me one of those blue elastic hats like they wear. Me, with my shaved head, stopped in my tracks while holding the little hair net and started smiling. I looked around at the other nurses, who started to smile and giggle. It was when I put the hairnet on my face that the triage/recovery/big room of people started laughing, including some of the patients. I stopped short of pointing at my doctor and saying "He doesn't have to wear one!" Doc, being a Sikh, wears a turban. You see, I'm a real character in medical scenarios. When I was at the ER many moons ago suffering (in extreme pain) with peritonitis, I still mustered up the wherewithal to keep pulling the sheet completely over my head while being wheeled around to various rooms and departments and exclaiming, "I'm not dead yet!"
So far, no change, but the shots won't have an effect for 24-48 hours. I'll know soon enough if there's relief. It had gotten so bad that I would constantly stumble or even fall, I fell out of Jeff's truck the other day, and I have a number of scars and bruises on my legs where I took little spills or stumbles and crashed into something.
