Four legged robotics

I am sure by now that most of you have seen the video of the amazing (and creepy) "Big Dog" quadrupedal robot. The thing is by far the most amazing example of legged robotics I have seen to date, the only thing needed is to put this into a friendly appearing (or maybe not) body and ditch the two-stroke engine it uses for power.

I was surprised at how friggin' LOUD the thing is - clearly it's not going to be useful for anything requiring any degree of stealth until they come up with a quieter way to power the thing.

I think that's the creepiest thing I've seen since Herbie Hancock's "Rockit" video. Fascinating, though.
