So, hey, I don't post too often, but I just had an awesome night so fuck it I'm going to make a post! So, Less Than Jake's fall (winter?) tour has just come to an end, and it ended on a hell of a high note, in my opinion. They played a bunch of stuff they don't normally play, so me being an LTJ nerd, it was fucking fantastic. I can't remember everything off the top of my head, but National Anthem and 107 are certainly not the norm. Amazing.
Also, I had a Side Stage pass for this show. They only did 10 per show (only certain venues), $50 to get into the show, get a t-shirt of your choosing, get a signed copy of GNV FLA, watch the show from the side of the stage, and have a meet and greet with the band before they played their set. Generally an awesome deal all around. Also funny because I've talked to them before and after shows plenty of times: Chris recognized me, gave me a hug, and then scolded me for paying so much money to see them. It was hilarious. I need to count how many shows I've been to now, they certainly know my face. I would guess over 30? I also got to tell JR that I found and really enjoyed Spring Heeled Jack (his old band)'s albums, and I got to tell Rog how much I enjoyed the new Rehasher album that came out recently. I also talked to Buddy for a moment, and Vinnie showed up late so I only got to say hey to him.
Being on the side of the stage was kind of awkward, since the crowd could see us behind the band. It was quite entertaining though, especially when Chris decided to run into us like we were bowling pins in the middle of a song. Somehow he didn't miss a beat, despite knocking us around. Roger also came up to us once during a fancy bassline so we could check out his crazy fret work, and Buddy was dancing around us at various points throughout the night, since we were on the horn section's side of the stage. I suppose JR technically was as well, but he wasn't specifically facing us (not that I mind, he's still an awesome guy).
And then I got to talk to Vinnie on my way out! He's generally the least likely to be found standing around after the show, so I was ecstatic to finally get to have a conversation with him. Got to tell him I was thrilled with the set they played, and he mentioned that they had tried to work in PS Shock the World, but didn't get around to practicing it. However, it's likely to happen next time! I also requested We, the Uninspired because I've never gotten to see it live. Vinnie was unsure if they had ever played it live.
Vinnie also talked me into getting a twitter... so I have a god damned twitter account now. XD I doubt I'll tweet much, but here it is:
https://twitter.com/thatwarrnguy I don't really know who on here uses twitter much, so reply with your username or follow me or something so I can follow you guys, or whatever the lingo is. Unfortunately, because I'm super late to the party, Warrn was already taken, but oh well!
TL;DR- Less Than Jake is the best band the world has ever known.
