Author's Notes: Inspired by the 55-word limit. But 55, I mean, really? I was stuck on 57 for so long! Anyway, my first 55-er, so I hope it did it right. Enjoy! :)
“What’s that you’ve got there, old boy?”
“The Daily Mirror, Hastings,” Poirot replied, a frown on his face. Hastings watched the pencil move across the page.
“I say, estomaqué?”
“It fits, mon ami.”
“In an English crossword?” Poirot looked up and frowned.
“It was never specified. Ah!” Hastings watched as Poirot wrote the word ‘ragoût’.

OLD FICS AND ART
Poirot's been around for a long time, but unfortunately the fandom hasn't (not online anyway), so there's nothing hanging around from 2005 backwards. However, I did manage to find the oldest fics and art through the poirot_fans comm.

FIC: 'A Thousand Words' by seal_girl from May 30th 2008.
My, those took a long time to sniff out (only because I kept getting distracted). :)
